Ferrite beads are found on cables used on electronics equipment such as computers, TV’s, communication devices. The Ferrite “bead” is actually a hollow round cylinder that fits around a wire(s) and often is over molded in plastic to keep it in place.

Ferrite is a semi-magnetic material made of iron oxide alloy made with other metals. This “cylinder bead” is meant to reduce EMI (electromagnetic interference) and RFI (radio-frequency interference).

Certain components of a computer like processors, video cards, oscillator’s and printers have the potential to create RFI radio signals. The EMI signals are broadcast from power sources, like electrical wiring devices or wall outlets.

A Ferrite bead(s) can be used on one or both ends of a connection wire. The over molded Ferrite bead(s) effectively capture any stray RFI & EMI signals, allowing a clean and clear power supply delivery.

For additional security, Almor Power Cables also manufacturers power cord wire with braided, Mylar shielding, drain wires built in, in addition to the over molded Ferrite beads that offer additional protection from RFI emissions that are often required in Government specifications or sensitive electronic applications.
